Royal Veterinary College
RVC is a leading educator of veterinary surgeon, nurses and biological scientists. Recognised for innovation in teaching, research and practice, it offers undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees; the BSc Bioveterinary Sciences ranks 8th in the UK for Biological science. RVC research has applications for human and veterinary medicine, and the education students receive makes them highly employable; 90% of graduates are in professional or relevant careers within six months of graduation. Since 1791, RVC has worked closely with business to ensure that its research is applied to improve health and welfare. In the 19th century John McFadyean, commercially produced proteins to treat tuberculosis. Today, the McFadyean building houses the London BioScience Innovation Centre (LBIC); owned and managed by RVC to provide support infrastructure to emerging biotechnology companies to facilitate breakthrough healthcare innovations of tomorrow.
