STORM is an Online Case Challenge for II & III Year students; with an objective to provide a platform to the bright young minds to solve real-world engineering problems & to use their ideas and concepts to come up with unique perspectives and creative solutions.
Get ready to compete in the new Thermax Case Challenge! The challenge is an opportunity to test your analytical, technical and problem-solving skills while honing your business acumen by thinking through real-world technical issues that we solve for our customers at Thermax
- Live business case/ problems will be shared with the students for them to come up with a solution within a pre-defined period.
- Post solution submission all entries will be evaluated by Thermax judges (first level shortlisting) and the top 5 teams will get an opportunity to present their solution to the Thermax jury in final virtual round.
- Top 3 teams will be invited for Virtual Award Distribution & presentation of their solution to the Thermax Leaders. Students from the respective colleges and Thermax Employees will be attending the award function.
National Winners will receive cash prize of INR 50,000 + Certificates + PPI for 3rd Year Students & Internship Opportunity for 2nd Year students
National 1st Runner up will receive cash prize of INR 30,000 + Certificates + PPI for 3rd Year Students & Internship Opportunity for 2nd Year students
National 2nd Runner up will receive cash prize of INR 20,000 + Certificates + PPI for 3rd Year Students & Internship Opportunity for 2nd Year students
Winners will get an opportunity to present their solution to Thermax Leadership.
Participants will get a participation certificate
- Students pursuing BE/B.Tech full time degree.
- Current second-year (passing out in 2023) and third-year students (passing out in 2022).
- Students must have CGPA of 6.32 & above or 60% aggregate.
- This contest is open to the Third year and Second year students of the following Engineering Colleges selected by Thermax.
- Formulate your cross year (second-year and third-year) and cross stream*(e.g. mechanical, electrical, instrumentation) teams as per case numbers and given streams for the selected colleges, provided below.
- Case number will be mentioned in the case for further reference.

- Students can formulate a cross stream and cross year team of 3 to 5 members and nominate one designated Team Leader.
- The Team Leader will register to enter the competition on the team's behalf to complete the team's registration process.
- Only students from the same institute can form a team.
- There is no restriction on the number of teams from an Institute.
- We suggest to have gender-diverse & cross year and stream composition of Teams.
- Only one account per team is allowed to register.
- Modification of team post registration will not be allowed.
- Deviation from any of the above mentioned rules will lead to immediate disqualification.

- Thermax reserves the right to check the validity of the information submitted during registration.
- All registered teams will receive the case from the FirstNaukri team over email.
- Student should follow the Evaluation parameters mentioned in the case study while preparing the solution.
- All the registered teams will have to submit the solution in MS Word and we suggest to keep the document crisp.
- For supporting calculations/ analysis you may attach an excel sheet
- The last day of submission of entries will be 31st January 2021, 11:59 PM.
- All the teams are requested to submit their entries well in advance to avoid any last-minute hassles.
- Once submitted, no team will be allowed to revise, substitute, add, delete, or in any other manner alter their original submission.
- The first page should include details of team members and their college.
- Font Type: Calibri with a text size of 12, Headings text size 14
- Save all the solution documents in one folder and name folder as Team Name (CollegeName_TeamName) and upload the zip folder on your Firstnaukri Contest Platform
- The maximum size of the zip folder should not exceed 20MB.
- Post that send the link of the zip folder to FirstNaukri platforms, with subject line should be STORM_COLLEGENAME_TEAMNAME_SOLUTION.
- The Final Round will held on 11th February 2021 & 12th February 2021.
- Shortlisted teams will have to share their final presentation on Wednesday, 10th February 2021 by 5:00 pm, failing to do will lead to disqualification of team.
- The Shortlisted teams will present a detailed presentation on the case to Thermax Panel.
- 3 teams shortlisted from each case domain will be announced as the Winner, 1st Runner up and 2nd runner up.
- Each team will get 8 minutes to present and 7 mins for Q&A (A total of 15 minutes).
- Winner, 1st Runner up and 2nd runner up for each case domain will be announced on 15th February 2021.
- The event will be held on 23rd February 2021.
- The national finalists, will get a chance to present to the senior leadership team of Thermax.
- Students from the respective colleges and Thermax Employees will be attending the award function.
