For over 30 years, we’ve been working to ensure that healthcare professionals across the NHS have all the information they need by providing them with instant access to electronic patient records.

Beginning with a passion for integrated patient care

One idea shared by two clinicians from Yorkshire in the 1980s kick-started the creation of Egton Medical Information Systems. The idea: that technology can be used to give clinicians access to complete and shared medical records, no matter where patients present for care.

What followed was the development of our first clinical IT system and an ever-growing passion for making information instantly available at the point of care

Fast forward to today and although over 30 years of experience have expanded our scope – and while our name has evolved into the catchier EMIS Health – our motivations are much the same.

Job Description

Role Title: Trainee Associate

Standard duties and responsibilities
Competencies

The post holder will operate at an entry level in the execution of the following competencies:

  • Possess the technical understanding of basic concepts in the expected programming languages and platforms.
  • Be a quick learner and work hard to become a proper software engineer
  • Strive to continuously improve and embrace change within the department.
  • Communicate with the members in the team and the organisation without any hesitation and ask for help when needed.
  • Follow a guiding lead from more senior developers.
  • Plan and organise their work and complete all the assigned works on the given time.

 

Objectives

The post holder will be responsible for the following by the end of probation period:

  • Possess good knowledge in Dotnet fundamentals including windows application development.
  • Possess good knowledge in SQL and should be able to write DDL/DML SQL queries fluently.
  • Should be able to write good industry standard code.
  • Should be able to work as an integral junior member of the team and complete the assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Should have gained good business knowledge in the assigned project.

 

Requirements

Essential

  • Academic Qualification: B.E/B.Tech, MCA with consistent academic performance from X, XII standards onwards.
  • Experience: 0 - 1 years.
  • Formally trained in any institute on Microsoft technologies including Dotnet and SQL
  • Basic understanding and at least limited hands-on in C# and SQL
  • Should be able to write code in C# for simple logical problems
  • Basic understanding of OOP concepts
  • Good Analytical and Problem-solving skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Keen to learn and pick up new skills, passionate about software development, enthusiastic and innovative.

 

Desirable (Not Mandatory)
  • Professional Certifications
  • Competitive programming experience and scores in Topcoder, Codechef, etc.
  • Knowledge of XML.
  • Knowledge about Agile methodologies
  • Knowledge about healthcare sector.
