Osmania University is one of the largest affiliating universities and is a home to more than 300,000 students pursuing their higher studies on its Campus, constituent, Affiliated colleges and District Centres. It has nearly 5000 Staff comprising of teaching and non-teaching. It is multi-faculty and multidisciplinary university, offering rich and varied courses in the faculties of Arts, Sciences, Social Sciences, Law, Education, Engineering, Technology, commerce, Management, Informatics, Pharmacy and Oriental Languages.

Osmania University, established in 1918, is the seventh oldest in India, the third oldest in south India and the first to be established in the erstwhile princely state of Hyderabad. Through out its existence of over eight decades, it has shown remarkable progress and sustained an integrated deve- lopment of all faculties. It has significantly contributed to the academic and economic development of not only the region but also of the Country.
