Shri Shamrao Patil Educational and Charitable Trust’s Sharad INSTITUTE OF technology, college of engineering. The institute is emerging as a centre for excellence and the credit goes to Late Shri Shamraoji Patil (Yadravkar), the founder of ‘Shri Shamrao Patil Educational and Charitable Trust’, who by his vision took initiatives in sowing a seed of knowledge which is now growing like a giant tree. Further Mr. Rajendra Patil (Yadravkar), Chairman of trust continued it by treading on his father’s path with a valuable support of Mr. Anil Bagane, Executive Director and a passionate leader is nourishing it by taking ceaseless efforts. Since its inception the trust has been working for the betterment of rural students which is the primary objective of it, while doing so the trust has gone through lot of crisis and upheavals and overcame it successfully.
The trust is established in 1986 and started its mission by establishing schools, then put its foot in technical education by commencing ITI institute in 2006 then Diploma College (SITP) in 2008 and the next it achieved its milestone, Degree College (SITCOE) in 2009. The trust has taking care of Agriculture College. Sharad Institute of Technology College of Engineering is approved by AICTE, New Delhi, recognized by Govt. of Maharashtra and affiliated to Shivaji University Kolhapur. It has its own reputation among engineering colleges. SIT Polytechnic has set its own status by recruiting 162 students in its first campus drive. The college has also achieved no. 1 rank in academic monitoring.
